Unlike other Penfolds wines, St Henri Shiraz is aged in large, old oak vats instead of small, new oak barrels. This allows the wine to develop its complexity and structure while retaining the purity of the fruit flavors. The resulting wine is a deep, dark color with aromas of blackberry, black pepper, and a hint of spice.
